On your first visit you will have a consultation where I will take a full medical history and any other relevant information. I will also ask about your lifestyle, your work and leisure habits and your diet. You should feel comfortable at all times during the session. Any information given during the consultation and subsequent treatments is confidential and will not be shared with anyone else. To carry out the treatment you will be seated in a comfortable reclining seat. I will ask you to remove your shoes and socks or tights and will wipe your feet with antiseptic wipes. Normally, talcum powder is applied to the feet in order to make the treatment easier to carry out. It is possible that the treatment may be uncomfortable at times, especially in areas where there is some congestion or imbalance in the corresponding organ or body part. However, the treatment should never be extremely painful. For most people the treatment is relaxing rather than painful, although various sensations can be experienced. It is normal, for example, to feel a tingling sensation in the arms and hands. This is a good sign as it points to increased circulation. The treatment session will last between 50 minutes and 1 hour. Afterwards, you may feel tired or completely revitalised: it depends on the individual. A mild healing crisis may be experienced in the day or two following the treatment which could manifest as a runny nose, headache or the need to visit the toilet more frequently. These are all good signs and are indications that the body is ridding itself of toxins and beginning the healing process. The number of treatments required depends on the condition being treated and the length of time a client has had the condition. The average number of treatments is 6.
